Paul Hobbs Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2014
|Region||California, Napa Valley|
Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon leaps from the glass with fresh, exuberant cassis and crushed blackberry notes plus hints of cigar box, dried Mediterranean herbs, violets and Marmite toast. Full-bodied and built like a brick house, with firm, grainy tannins and lively acid supporting the generous black berry and savory flavors, it finishes with great length and poise. It is drinking beautifully now but has the stuffing to cellar for 12+ years. 6,810 cases were made.
Raw and edgy, this intense and potent style eases into a more supple, agreeable mix of crushed rock, dark berry, anise and cedar flavors. Never quite shakes the tannins, but fans of chewy reds will love this. Best from 2020 through 2030. 6,810 cases made.
