William Hill Benchland Series Cabernet Sauvignon 2014
|Region||California, Napa Valley|
The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Benchland Series is also 100% Cabernet Sauvignon aged 19 months in 69% new French oak. This is an even bigger wine than the 2013, coming in at 15.5% alcohol. It shows the vintage's upfront charm, opulence and rather dramatic dark berry fruit - in this case cassis and blackberries. The wine is intense and full-bodied with an opulence and lushness. It should drink well for 15-20 years.
Pure and juicy, with a core of dark berry and crushed rock flavors, smoky, toasty oak and a touch of graphite, all of which suggest short-term cellaring, as the texture is still edgy. Best from 2020 through 2032. 1,700 cases made.
