Trapiche Oak Cask Chardonnay 2013
Lively spice and white cherry flavors carry plenty of smoky and buttery notes, with baked peach hints on the finish. Drink now. 18,000 cases made.
Apple, straw and oily aromas are bland. This smacks down with malic acid but then hollows out as mild citrus, melon and honey flavors take hold. The finish is static and mellow.
The 2013 Oak Cask Chardonnay is sourced mostly from the Uco Valley. One third of the wine is fermented in barrel and goes through malolactic, the rest in inox with no malolactic. It is a modern, citric fruit-driven, clean Chardonnay with a light, fresh, fruity palate. Drink now.
