The 2021 Chardonnay Reserva, from Tupungato, Mendoza, spent eight months in used barrels. Yellow in color. The aromatic profile features pear, linden blossom and lime zest accompanied by lactic and caramel aromas. Complex for its price range, it has a terse feel with an expansive, agile flow that delivers clear flavors before the oaky finish. Very good value for money.

Names come and go, and Reserva-which doesn't really mean anything and is often attached to the cheapest ranges-comes back to the 2021 Reserva Chardonnay. It was produced with grapes from three vineyards in the Valle de Uco and has 13% alcohol and mellow freshness and acidity, coming through as fruit-driven and varietal with notes of white fruit and bay leaf. It has some tropical hints of pineapple and a soft palate.
