Vincent Girardin Meursault 2017
|Region||France, Burgundy, Meursault|
Heady bouquet of dried almond, butter, and mineral notes. Once the wine is opened, we have fine notes of white flower, butter, and toasted bread. The touch of sugar on the palate reveals the fruit was very mature. Its mineral structure brings purity and freshness. Pair with white meats and fish with creamy sauce, aperitif, scallops.
Coming from 60-year-old vines and brought up in 15% new oak, the 2017 Meursault Les Vieilles Vignes offers a solid bouquet of stone fruits and buttered citrus as well as green almonds and white flowers. Nicely textured, medium-bodied, and elegant on the palate, with a subtle sense of minerality on the finish, it's an outstanding, classy Meursault to enjoy over the coming 7-8 years or so.
