|Region||Chile, Rapel Valley, Cachapoal|
|Brand||Concha y Toro|
The 2020 Carmenere Marques de Casa Concha is also 7% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Merlot, aged in 27% new barrels for 12 months. Purple in the glass with hints of ash, pyrazine, blackberry, blueberry and graphite, it's juicy, broad and tannic in the mouth, delivering good freshness and a lengthy finish before the ashy afterglow.
This well-structured wine has a herbaceous nose and shows typicity. Aromas of berries complete the bouquet. Blackberry, red-plum and grilled bell pepper flavors are joined by well-integrated oak on the smooth palate. Gentle herbs are displayed in a prolonged finish.
Opens with potent white pepper and sandalwood notes, with a hint of fresh jalapeño, while the palate delivers creamy berry flavors. Reveals hints of cocoa powder on the finish. Drink now.
